Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Interior Design – A Career course, you will be able to:

  • Define the role of Professional Interior Designer:  What is the difference between professional interior designers versus interior decorators?
  • List, analyze & assess  your own suitability to the profession
  • Explore the various interior design specializations and areas of practice
  • Review the educational routes to earn professional designations & certifications and alternatives to remove the barriers to entry
  • Investigate various fee systems and business formations that will best suit your new career
  • Formulate a personal plan that includes evaluating your existing education, skills sets, and resources both personal and financial to create a map to navigate yourself towards a career in design

Please note there is a mandatory live session included in this course.

The live session will be held in real time as follows:

  1. Saturday, March 24th, 2021 9:00AM to 12:00PM MT

To fully participate in the live sessions you will need to have access to a reliable headset with microphone and a webcam.

Unless notified, all online courses are available at 9 am MT the day before the start date. Students who register on (or after) the start date will receive access within one day of registration.

Students who are unfamiliar with online learning are recommended to take BMC 352 Learning Online prior to enrolling in this course.

Unless otherwise stated, notice of withdrawal or transfer from a course must be received at least seven calendar days prior to the start date of the course.
