Welcome to the ASBA Trustee Governance Program
Welcome to the ASBA Trustee Governance Program! We are excited to have you join us for this professional development opportunity.
The ASBA Trustee Governance Program will benefit you and your school board in the following ways:
- Empower and engage trustees with key knowledge and strategies to apply to their role.
- Enable trustees to reflect upon their board practices by exploring theory, best practice examples and real-life scenarios.
The program is composed of three modules that integrate the theory and practice of leadership and effective governance. During these sessions, you will get insight, tools, templates, resources and materials that support you and the work you do. As you go through the program, you will learn how these tips and tools can be tailored to different tasks and workplace scenarios that you are undertaking. The modules and specific courses are captured below.
Program Expectations
All live sessions are mandatory to ensure active participation.
Attendees should plan to study and work approximately 1 to 2 hours per week per course. If attendees are unable to attend a live class, they should inform the instructor at least two weeks prior to the scheduled session.
Participants who miss a live session may be given additional assignments from the instructor to fulfil the course requirements.
