Course DescriptionThis course examines perspectives on ideology. Students will explore the principles of liberalism and the progression from classical to modern liberalism. Students will analyze the effect of ideology on the growth of Canada and the impacts on Indigenous, Francophones and Anglophones in the post-confederation period.
By the completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Explore the relationship between identity and ideology
- Assess impacts of, and reactions to, principles of liberalism
- Assess the extent to which the principles of liberalism are viable
