Course Description

Did you know that the majority of Fortune 500 companies use Power BI? Improve your professional and employability skills and gain a fundamental understanding of the capabilities of Power BI. Learn how to create simple, interactive reports, tables, charts, and dashboards. Learn how to quickly import Excel and text files into Power BI and perform basic data transformation. This course introduces commonly used visuals and shows how to build basic reports using filters and slicers. Through hands-on exercises and guided instruction, you'll gain the skills and confidence to begin using Power BI in a business context. This course is designed for non-technical business users.

Course Details

By the completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • Install and navigate Power BI Desktop
  • Connect to data sources such as Excel, CSV, and Microsoft Forms
  • Perform basic data import and cleaning
  • Create basic visuals (tables, charts, cards)
  • Build and publish simple reports and dashboards
  • Use the Power BI Service to share and interact with reports

Prerequisites

There are no mandatory prerequisites for this course. You are expected to have fundamental understanding of core Microsoft Excel concepts such as worksheets and tables.
