Course Description

Learn conversational Mandarin in this course intended for those with little or no background in the language. Cover some culture and business etiquette, and learn practical phrases, as well as a grammatical framework for further study.

Course Details

Upon successful completion of this Mandarin 1 course, you will be able to:

  • Introduce yourself and use greetings and farewells
  • Count numbers and go shopping
  • Talk about dates and days of the week
  • Exchange telephone numbers
  • Talk about family
  • Retain approximately three hundred Mandarin words and phrases
  • Create a short story with the vocabulary you have learned in class
  • Have a better understanding of Chinese culture
