Course Description

This introduction to the basic structure of the Japanese language emphasizes oral proficiency, with some reading and writing (Hiragana). This course is for those with little or no background in Japanese.

Course Details

Upon successful completion of this Japanese 1 course, you will be able to:

  • Exchange greetings
  • Use basic classroom expressions
  • Give a simple introduction of yourself
  • Talk about your family
  • Talk about your favourite foods
  • Read a menu and order food and drinks
  • Talk about your home
  • Welcome/visit a friend
