Web Development Essentials

This micro-credential course covers the basics of web development. HTML is the backbone of web development. CSS is a powerful tool that ensures websites have consistent styles and formats. JavaScript is a core technology of the web. In this course, students will learn how to use HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create a responsive webpage that works seamlessly on a variety of devices.

This course is delivered in collaboration with RoboGarden. Students who complete this course will be eligible for a tuition fee discount ($199+GST) for ICT 889 Full Stack Development Bootcamp.

Course Details

By completion of this micro-credential course, students will be able to:

  • Create a web form that collects user inputs and runs validations using HTML
  • Create responsive webpage elements using CSS
  • Apply logical, arithmetic, and comparison operators on variables
  • Discuss the use of JavaScript in web development
  • Demonstrate and apply the use of media queries

This micro-credential course is ideal for:

  • Individuals who are interested in exploring a career in full stack development of web and mobile applications

Hardware requirements:

  • An operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux) with a minimum of:
    •  Four (4) GB of RAM (eight (8) GB of RAM is recommended),
