Course Description
Recognizing the need to apply fair and equitable workforce practices in organizations is key for human resource professionals. Examine key areas of human resource legal compliance that allow professionals to promote orientation and awareness of the legal landscape. Discover how to work with senior and front line managers to discuss business processes related to employment law.

- Reviewing and rewriting job descriptions to eliminate potential bias

Course Details
By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Implement a promotion strategy for the orientation strategy and awareness of the human resource legal landscape based on industry benchmarks, diversity, organizational and human resource departmental targets
- Describe key areas of human resource legal compliance within the organization
- Write work policies based on the Canadian human resource law and regulations
- Describe legal guidelines around equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the Canadian context and the imperative of organizations to fulfil EDI mandates through internal policies and initiatives
