Course Description

Festive Seasonal Containers

Do you want to add some festive arrangements to your home this holiday season? We'll explore design techniques and decorative trends of doorstep arrangements for indoor or outdoor use. Greenery and colour in a festive creation will be the finishing feature for your home while decorating for the holidays. Students will create and take home a large starter container of greenery and festive garnish. Arrangement materials are supplied with payment due at registration. 

Course Details

By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • Identify the greenery and accessories used in the arrangement 
  • Apply proper storage of boughs
  • Use florist products, work with oasis and make decorative stems
  • Apply cutting techniques for longer lasting arrangements
  • Identify differences in products
  • Design and make fabric bows using florist wire and picks
  • Use the waste products from their arrangement to create a small table centre piece or hostess gift

Students to bring hand pruners, garden gloves and wear an apron to protect their clothes from pine sap.

The cost of materials are part of the course costs that include tuition and supplies. Materials will be supplied by the instructor in class.

Students are to bring hand pruners, garden gloves and wear an apron to protect their clothes from pine sap.
