Course Description

How organizations manage their environmental affairs is guided by the International Organization for Standardization's series of international environmental management standards, which were completely revised in 2015. This course will describe how the standards help organizations improve their due diligence and environmental citizenship. It will also provide a practical guide to designing and implementing an environmental management system in any organization.

By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • apply the principles of systematic environmental management
  • apply related ISO and other international standards 
  • apply how an environmental management system actually works in an organization
  • apply how to develop and implement an environmental management system
