ART 330 - Artist Series: Portrait Drawing

Course Description

Have you ever wanted to capture the essence of someone in a drawing? Portrait drawing is a skill that utilizes some basic knowledge of anatomy and knowledge of the correct proportions of the human head, with emphasis on creating form and space with your drawings. Explore different techniques with a variety of materials. A basic knowledge of drawing techniques is recommended.

Course Details

By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

• Create artworks, to express emotion and ideas using different kinds of lines, patterns, colours, values and space.
• Create artworks demonstrating influence from their personal, social or physical environments.
• Engage in conversations about their own and others artworks, using the language of art.
