Learn the basics of communicating in German, with an emphasis on speaking and understanding the language. This course is designed for students with no prior knowledge of the German language.

By successful completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • Introduce yourself and others; use greetings
  • Talk about days of the week
  • Get and give phone numbers
  • Ask useful questions and give answers
  • Use polite expressions
  • Describe people and activities
  • Talk about personal preferences
  • Ask for and tell the time
  • Talk about daily routines
  • Get groceries at the supermarket or at the market
  • Talk about your hobbies, activities and holidays
