Course Description

Project Managers (PM) rely on applying specific methods, models, and artifacts that are essential for effective delivery and management. PM's determine how to tailor the process and apply which methods, models, or artifacts are required based on the scope and needs of the project.

Learn commonly used models, methods, and artifacts that support project management. Apply commonly used approaches across the performance domains and illuminate the range of options project teams can utilize to produce deliverables, organize work, and facilitate communication and collaboration.

Course Details

By the completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • Recognize commonly used models, methods, models, and artifacts that support project management and delivery
  • Employ commonly used methods, models, artifacts, and techniques to generate project outputs for projects
  • Apply commonly used project management artifacts, templates, and tools, required for successful project implementation
  • Apply a real-life project management artifact from scratch leveraging  specific project methods, models, and commonly used artifacts, templates, tools, and practices covered in courses within the program (e.g. project plan, project charter, stakeholder engagement plan, etc)

Students will require access to a computer with the required software, Internet connection, a headset with speakers and microphone, webcam, and a monitor large enough to display multiple applications (or the use of two monitors).

This course uses Desire2Learn (D2L), an online learning management system, and Zoom web conferencing software. The instructor will post the course outline and other materials in D2L. For more information, please visit our Online Learning Resources.

Unless notified, all online courses are available at 9 am MT the day before the start date. Students registered on (or after) the start date will receive access within one day of registration.

Students unfamiliar with online learning are encouraged to take our free Digital Skills for Learning Online course.
