Course Description

For successful completion of the experiential learning component, students will submit a paper written in Spanish documenting their participation in a minimum of 10 hours of Spanish language-related activities. Activities may include reflecting on students’ experience of travelling to a Spanish-speaking country, participating in cultural events where Spanish is spoken, volunteering with the Spanish-speaking community, analyzing a film they saw or a novel they read, or writing about their understanding of historical or cultural events. The paper can be in the form of an essay or a journal, documenting details about participation in Spanish cultural or language-related activities. Required length of the paper is 750-1000 words, and students have up to six months upon the completion of their final course in the Spanish Language and Culture Certificate - Level 2 to submit the paper.
