Course Description

Health, safety and environment professionals need to understand the way their businesses work, the management system and the roles of managers, the work of management in planning, organizing, leading and controlling work, and organizational change and how to deal with it. Further, they must be skilled and competent trainers, and have a proper understanding of training methods, curriculum development and evaluation. Discuss the key aspects of organizational behaviour and business administration necessary to be an effective HSE professional in today's workplace.

Course Details

By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of Canadian business
  • Understand the basic planning process and planning models
  • Identify key features of organizational structure and teams
  • Identify key features of different leadership styles
  • Apply the principles of the problem solving processes in management
