Alberta certified teachers, assistant principals and principals new to leadership roles or aspiring to them can get leadership certification by completing approved leadership coursework through Alberta post-secondary institutions which includes University of Calgary Continuing Education.

Upon successful completion of the School Leadership Qualification Standard Program or Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard Program, participants are to contact the Alberta Ministry of Education to apply for certification.
