Certificate for Emerging Leaders
Jennifer Campbell was on a mission to find an in-depth leadership training program when she discovered the Emerging Leaders Certificate program offered through University of Calgary Continuing Education.
At the time, she knew exactly what she was looking for – a program that centered on people, with a focus on business strategy. Jennifer already had a diverse educational background that included a Bachelor of Arts degree, a diploma in business administration and a background in project management. What she needed was a program that focused on the softer communication skills.
"I liked that the program was designed to suit an individual's own learning objectives and interests, and allowed me to choose my own path," says Jennifer, who works as a vice president of operations with a real estate investment and development company in Calgary.
"Effective leadership is one of the most difficult parts of managing," she says. I believe it's a direct result of the skills I learned at U of C that I'm able to successfully take on my current role as VP operations."
