Jason Wright
Certificate in IT Fundamentals
Jason Wright has worked in IT network engineering at the University of Calgary for a decade, and has completed many certifications related to his work in that time. He chose to enrol in the IT Fundamentals Certificate because he believed the program would enhance his career.
"I chose the certificate because I wanted to gain knowledge about programming languages. I think it will help me with some of the problem solving I do in my job. Generally, I think this program will complement, pull together and advance my IT skills."
"It's a good program. The instructors are great and the curriculum is very good," says Jason. "I've already recommended it to some of my colleagues and friends."
"Not only did the program meet my expectations, it made me want to learn more," says Jason. "It's really just scratched the surface and has made me want to go on to other programs. I'm giving some thought to the Project Management Fundamentals Certificate and some of the other IT certificate programs."
Jason enjoyed the time he spent in the classroom and getting to know some of the people in his classes. By doing one course per session, he was able to complete the program in one year.
"I know my new learning will help me at work, and could even affect the direction of my career. Completing programs like this can definitely help you expand in your role and maybe move into other areas."
