Course Description

Active and engaging discussion boards can bring an online course to life, but they do not happen by accident. Developing discussion board activities that match your style of teaching can be complicated and different learning technologies provide different tools and types of interaction. This workshop will focusing on helping you develop practical strategies for teaching with discussion board activities and look at the different features and uses of several discussion board tools in different learning technologies.

By the end of this work shop you will:

  • Be able to describe several strategies for using discussion boards in your teaching,
  • Be able to describe several technologies for creating discussion board activities,
  • Have an increased understanding of good practices for online discussion boards.
