Course Description

The Continuing Education International Professional Program – Construction Management stream is made up of three four-month terms of study. Each term has a separate program course number. Students must take the IPP terms in order from 1 to 3.

  • Term 1 - IPP 240
  • Term 2 - IPP 340
  • Term 3 - IPP 440

Letter of Acceptance

A letter of acceptance will be issued upon:

  • Registration in IPP 240, IPP 340, IPP 440 (deposit payments required).
  • Satisfactory completion of the CE Professional Program for International Students Application (application fee required).

International Program Policies apply to IPP withdrawals, transfers and refunds.

Course Details

In Term 1 of the Construction Management stream students will take the following courses:

  • PMF 110i          Introduction to Process-based Approach to Projects
  • PMF 120i          Project Performance Domains
  • PMF 130i          Project Management Tailoring for Different Organizations
  • BMC 102          Construction Contract Law and Documents
  • BMC 110          Construction Costing
  • BMC 205i        Business Management

Prerequisites

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma (minimum 2 years in length) from a college or university.
  • Must meet the Continuing Education English Proficiency Requirements.

  • Students will have approximately 15 hours of classes per week. A separate schedule will be provided before the program starts. Students should expect 20-30 hours per week of homework/preparation.
  • Students who have registered and paid in full for IPP 240-008 will receive UPass public transportation pass, and access to UCalgary libraries and recreational facilities for the course period.
