Course Description

Improve your English skills and visit some of Western Canada’s top travel destinations. The activity program is made up of information meetings and guided excursions to points of cultural and social interest in and around Calgary. The activity package includes overnight trip(s) and day trip(s). Please see course sections for more details. 

You can register for individual activities (ESL 103) of your choice, or opt for the Intensive Activity Package (ESL 113) to enjoy savings on major excursions.

Students must be registered concurrently in ESL 101 or ESL 100 (Winter Semester Program only)

Enjoy a discount and secure your spot on all three major trips! The Activity Package fee includes transportation, admission fees, accommodation for overnight trips, and ski/snowboard equipment rental, lessons, and lift tickets.

Trips included in the Activity Package for the Winter II Intensive Program:

Banff Day Trip Feb 21
Ski/Snowboard Day Trip at Mount Norquay  Feb 27
Ski/Snowboard Overnight Trip at Castle Mountain Mar 6-7

Early Bird Fee: $650 (if registration received before Jan 9, 2026) 

Regular Fee: $700

Registration Deadline: February 2nd, 2026

Notes: 

  • The $250 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • An activity waiver must be signed prior to the trips.
  • Rooms are randomly assigned based on gender for the Overnight Trip.  
  • Activity dates and locations are subject to change. 

Refund policy for activities with deposit:

  • Withdraw 15 or more days before start date (i.e. Feb 9, 2026) 

    Your full tuition less deposits will be refunded     

  • Withdraw 2-14 days before activity date (i.e. Feb 9, 2026) 

    = 50% of the activity fee will be refunded

  • Withdraw 24 hours before activity date (i.e. Feb 9, 2026) 

    = No refund
