Strong writing skills are essential not only for academic success but also for upholding the principles of academic integrity. Whether you're preparing assignments, discussion board posts, essays, application case studies, or professional communications, clear and ethical writing reflects your ability to think critically, organize ideas, and give proper credit to others' work.

How to Cite Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools

When permitted, any use of AI must be transparently disclosed in accordance with the instructions provided.

It is possible to reference AI tools without having used them to generate content. For example, citing an AI tool as a source, just as you would cite any other software or digital platform.

Most AI chat tools now include a sharing option that generally provides users with a URL. This makes creating an APA Style reference simpler.

Failure to disclose AI use when required may constitute academic misconduct. See Guidelines on Generative Artificial Intelligence Use and Academic Integrity.
