Certificate in Office Applications
"I decided it was my turn to attend U of C," says Junlyn Kamalakar of her decision to enrol in Continuing Education courses. Her husband had already attended UCalgary, and her two sons were enrolled in programs at the school as well.
The family had immigrated to Canada from India, after living in Doha, Qatar, and settled in Calgary in 2003. Junlyn had been the one to choose Canada, and her husband had selected Calgary because of the oil and gas industry.
"We love Canada, and we love Calgary," she says.
Junlyn, who earned a bachelor's degree in office administration in India, has her own contract secretarial business and works from her home. Her work spans a wide variety of assignments from companies and students.
"I chose the Office Applications Certificate program to help me in my business," she says. "I learned so much in every class, so I'm extremely happy I did the program. And as far as value goes, I believe, education is priceless!"
"I've completed the certificate, but I will come back for more courses. I already have some in mind," she says.
