COR 641 - Foundations of AI & Machine Learning at the Workplace

Course Description

In the last few years, the conversation about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) has taken over the world. While AI and ML are related fields, they are not the same. To a certain extent, both concepts encompass various technologies and techniques covered in the broader AI industry.

This course is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and their applications in the workplace.

Course Details

By the completion of this course, successful students will be able to: 

• Identify practical ways that Generative AI, a class of artificial intelligence systems, can be used in a work setting to complete tasks, improve efficiency and support decision-making in various professional settings.
• Describe AI/ML trends influencing conversations about its usage in the work environment, such as governance, privacy, cyber security and using “prompt engineering” in AI while performing a work task/project/output.
• Create one job-related item using a Generative AI tool like ChatGPT (On-the-Job application or case study.)
