0993 - Creating a flipped classroom
Course Description
In a flipped classroom students engage with course material prior to class time through online and other pre-class activities. Once in the classroom the instructor can focus on engaging with the students and supporting their learning through mini-lectures and active learning strategies. There are a variety of ways to implement flipped learning and this workshop will explore these possibilities.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
-Develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles of flipped learning;
-Identify when to best use student-centred learning activities to promote student engagement; and
-Identify at least one flipped learning strategy to implement within the courses you teach.
