FSW 145 - Understanding and Influencing the Changing Ethics Landscape
Course Description
The early 2020’s are proving to be a time of great challenge and transition. The pandemic has brought changes, not only to the social order but also to how we view our shared values, rights and responsibilities. These changes are not yet fixed but evolving; it is critically important social workers and people in the helping professions help shape these changes. Furthermore, the greatest challenge of all is the rapidly deteriorating environmental situation. This presentation will explore how social work and the helping professions can contribute to environmental ethics and climate justice.

- What ethics is, why we need it and how to apply it.
- Case based examples.
- How and why ethics is changing and how we can influence it.
- How and why environmental ethics and climate Justice are part of Social Work and the helping professions.
