Course Description

This presentation will explore how the process of colonization and how the ongoing issue of systemic racism has led to inequities in health care for Indigenous peoples.  Participants will then understand what being an ally means, and specifically, how significant the role of being an ally is with dismantling colonial ideologies and closing the gaps in care for Indigenous patients and families.  The presentation will conclude with how to move from being a self-proclaimed ally to action through the tenets of Indigenous allyship.
