NUR 002 - CPR - Basic Life Support (BLS) Blended Renewal (Heart and Stroke Foundation)
Course Description
BLS Blended Renewal is the fundamental RENEWAL course for healthcare professionals and emergency medical providers, combining self-paced online learning and in-person instructor-led skills training. The course covers single- and multi-rescuer basic life support skills with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics in a wide variety of prehospital and in-facility settings.
The BLS Blended Renewal course assumes comprehensive awareness, knowledge, and skill proficiency in Heart & Stroke BLS concepts. This fast-paced course is for students who are confident in their BLS skills, use their skills regularly and require limited practice.
This course utilizes recently upgraded QCPR manikins, and is hosted at the Clinical Simulation Learning Centre, Faculty of Nursing, Professional Faculties Building. Further, this course is customized with enhanced content, and is specifically designed to meet Faculty of Nursing instructor expectations.
Course Details
After successfully passing the online component (typically approx. 1 hour), students attend a 2-hour in-person skills practice and evaluation session. Students have access to the online learning environment for 1 year.
For each registration a $5 donation will be made to the University of Calgary, Undergraduate Nursing Society.
