Course Description

In the fall of 2021, a student survey and optional series of focus groups were conducted to better understand student perspectives, barriers and proposed solutions in accessing and inclusivity in experiential and work-integrated learning. With approximately 2,000 student respondents, this session will generate discussion and activities on the methodological approach to brokering relationships in a project with inclusivity at it's center.

The session will explore the findings from students with a focus on recommendations geared towards applicability across campus units.

By the end of this session, participants will

  • Gain an understanding of undergraduate and graduate student perspectives in barriers, access and inclusion in EL/WIL
  • Learn about the methodological approach taken to design, collaborate and disseminate the project across campus and it's applicability to their roles
  • Gain an understanding on the recommendations derived from the student perspectives through case studies to inform potential action in their roles, units and scopes across campus
