TI 0913 - Creating a Flipped Lesson
Course Description
In a flipped classroom, lectures, resources and activities are placed online while class time is dedicated to working together face-to-face with the course material. The flipped classroom enables the instructor to build an interconnected community by working with learners synchronously while also providing rich learning experiences asynchronously. Using education technology, such as Desire2Learn, videos and podcasts, flipped learning provides opportunities for students to engage with content and each other asynchronously before attending synchronous or classroom sessions.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles of flipped learning;
- Identify when to best use student-centred learning activities to promote student engagement; and
- Identify at least one flipped learning strategy to implement within the courses you teach.
Please note: Registration will close 2 business days before each workshop. Participants will receive relevant Zoom information via email at least 1 hour before the designated start time.
