Course Description

What is the importance of community? Why develop a research community? In this co-facilitated workshop with the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, participants explore the connections between research identity, relationship building and career development.  They will learn and practice ways to develop an authentic research community that supports their research interests and goals.  The workshop includes a research community speaker panel with opportunities for questions and answers.

At the end of this session you will be able to:

•  Describe the importance of developing a research community in academic contexts and beyond
• Write a meaningful and well-structured research bio to make new connections and expand your network
• Recognize relationship building is a practice, feel comfortable applying relationship building tools
