TI 0813 - Teaching Problems and SoTL
Course Description
We invite all graduate students interested in SoTL to join us for our second discussion-based session, Teaching Problems and SoTL.
We will take some time to become acquainted, review SoTL foundations and reflect upon the session’s reading, Randy Bass’s (1999) “The scholarship of teaching: What’s the problem?” Bass describes approaches to problems in research and teaching and details the experiences that led to his engagement with SoTL. His reflective piece is an excellent catalyst for discussion.
Session two’s reading is: Bass, R. (1999). The scholarship of teaching: What’s the problem? Inventio, 1(1).
*Please note that Bass's article is the only required reading. This link connects you to several articles, but we will only be discussing the first*
