Set up and maintain your own responsive website in no time using WordPress, the vastly popular content management system (CMS) that’s free and open sourced. The self-contained platform includes all the tools you need for creating and customizing your WordPress site.

This course is designed for those with no prior knowledge of coding or web development.

  • Design and produce a functional website to include content, images and other media viewable on the web
  • Assess, install and activate themes and plugins to customize the appearance and extend the functionality of your website
  • Plan and apply search engine optimization (SEO) and social sharing
  • Apply sound techniques to maintain and secure your website

Classes are held online in real time (Mountain Time) at the specified time and dates.

You will require access to a computer with the required software, Internet connection, a headset with speakers and microphone, webcam, and a monitor large enough to display multiple applications (or the use of two monitors).

This course uses Desire2Learn (D2L), an online learning management system, and Zoom web conferencing software. The instructor will post your course outline and other materials in D2L. For more information, please visit our Online Learning Resources.

Unless notified, all online courses are available at 9 am MT the day before the start date. Students who register on (or after) the start date will receive access within one day of registration.

Students who are unfamiliar with Desire2Learn or Zoom are recommended to take BMC 352 Learning Online prior to enrolling in this course.

Unless otherwise stated, notice of withdrawal or transfer from a course must be received at least seven calendar days prior to the start date of the course.

Note: No Class February 15 due to statutory holiday.
