Course Description

With increase offering of online classes, the University of Calgary has the opportunity to reflect on its current approaches to provide an accessible learning environment.  This session provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to reflect on the new challenges faced by learners, particularly learners with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and physical limitations. 

After the session, attendees will

  • Recognize the emerging challenges faced by students in an online learning environment
  • Understand the benefits of moving to universal design, particular in terms of online testing
  • Develop communication plans for online testing based on best practices
  • Understand how Student Accessibility Services can support students and faculty in this transition.
