Course Description
Description
This badge provides participants with the opportunity to integrate their understanding about teaching and learning into a portfolio format known as a teaching dossier. Participants will develop a teaching philosophy statement and learn how to integrate them with artifacts of teaching and learning into a dossier format.
This badge is part of the Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars Certificates in University Teaching and Learning programme.
Participants who register for the badge will be automatically enrolled in the Certificate. This badge requires 12 hours of participation and is open to graduate students and post-doctoral scholars at the University of Calgary.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify the purpose of a dossier
- Identify the components of a dossier
- Develop a draft teaching philosophy statement and dossier
Delivery
The course (5 modules) and the Capstone Project are delivered and completed in an online format.
The course will open in D2L on the morning of October 8, 2024, and participants will have the opportunity to work through the modules at their own pace. The capstone project for this badge will be due on November 15, 2024.
Registration Information
- This badge is open and free-of-cost to all current graduate students and postdoctoral scholars with the University of Calgary
- For recent graduates: If you began work on your Certificate prior to completing your graduate studies at the University of Calgary, you may take up to one year after your graduation to complete your Certificate
- This badge is not accepting the registration of external participants i.e. individuals not affiliated with the University of Calgary
