Open to graduate students and Postdoctoral Scholars associated at the University of Calgary.

What makes a good teacher? How do you build trust and community with your students? How can you evaluate students consistently? What can you do to receive more teaching feedback? What are ways to start becoming more reflective as a post-secondary teacher?

These are all questions I had when I started my teaching journey in post-secondary education. And now I get the opportunity to help you answer all of these questions within the context of this badge – Emerging Teachers Development ! Through the time we have together in this partially asynchronous course, (1 mandatory lunch time discussion over zoom), we will go through each of these questions with a modular approach to help you get a baseline understanding of what it means to be an emerging teacher.

This Badge is part of the Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholar Certificates in University Teaching and Learning. This is one of several badges you can take to complete the certificate – you need to take four out of the seven badges offered before you can apply for and receive your certificate.

This badge will require 12 hours of participation.
