Welcome to the Alberta Land Surveyors' Association (ALSA) Competence Development Program, offered in collaboration with University of Calgary Continuing Education.
The Alberta Land Surveyors' Association (ALSA) is the self-regulating professional body responsible for licensing, regulating, and disciplining land surveyors in Alberta to protect the public interest. It ensures surveyors meet professional standards, and the profession operates with integrity and accountability.
In collaboration with UCalgary Continuing Education, this unique program offers you the opportunity to become licensed as an Alberta Land Surveyor.
Requirements
1. Pathway Requirement
To become a professional land surveyor in Alberta, you must first have your registration pathway approved by the Registration Committee of the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association (ALSA). You will also have the choice of becoming a Land Surveyor in Training with the ALSA.

- Training will be delivered online, with some courses requiring in-person field visits.
