Course Description
This introduction to the basic structure of the Japanese language emphasizes oral proficiency, with some reading and writing in Hiragana and Katakana. Continuation of Japanese 1.Course Details
By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Daily life: tell time; talk about your daily routines and schedule for the week
- Holidays and days off: talk about your hobbies and what you do on your days off
- Towns: recognize station and taxi signs; say how to get to a destination
- Shopping: talk about what you want to buy; do some shopping
- Write short journal in Japanese
Mizue Asai-Kaufmann, I am from Tokyo, Japan. I started teaching Japanese as an exchange teaching program in 1998 in Morrin, Alberta. Since 2005, I have been teaching Japanese with different age groups of students from kindergarten to grade 12 with heritage language and second language programs. I have been teaching with Continuing Education since 2014. I enjoy teaching classes and am interested in sharing Japanese culture and traditions in the classroom. My class will be energetic with a variety of activities. You will enjoy the journey of learning.
