Course Description

Classes that incorporate global learning are often rooted in disciplinary specifics that ask students to engage in assignments and readings that further emphasize their knowledge base in their program of study. However, the location or culture of place are significant topics when designing learning outcomes for any global learning context and play an important role in the development of students’ intercultural capacity. This workshop will ask those extra questions that we need to be asking beyond the disciplinary learning outcome questions to make global learning significant and meaningful. This is workshop two in a series of four. For fulsome understanding of global learning, and how to embed it in your courses, it is highly recommended that you register for all four sessions. You can register for each session on the TI course calendar.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explored the partners or collaborators necessary for their Global EL
  • Considered what pre-launch cross-cultural competencies or location-pertinent information students will need to be successful in the Global EL
  • Produced learning objectives for their Global EL offering
  • Examined the Intercultural Capacity Framework as it relates to student learning

Please note: Registration will close 48 hours before each workshop. Participants will receive relevant Zoom information via email at least 1 hour before the designated start time.
