COR 277 - Excel Proficient: From Intermediate to Advanced
Course Description
This course is designed for learners who already possess a strong foundation in Excel and are ready to elevate their skills to an advanced level. Participants will deepen their understanding of data analytics, automation, and business intelligence, with a focus on practical applications for workplace productivity and decision-making.
Throughout the course, learners will explore advanced Excel features such as scenario analysis, goal seeking, and forecasting to support complex business decisions. They will build and customize dynamic PivotTables and PivotCharts for interactive data reporting and visualization.
The curriculum is structured around real-world scenarios and hands-on exercises, enabling participants to build scalable models and automate processes. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to tackle advanced Excel tasks confidently and contribute to data-driven projects within their organizations.
Course Details
Upon completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Apply scenario analysis, goal seeking, and forecasting techniques using advanced Excel tools to solve complex business problems.
- Analyze and evaluate data sets by building and customizing dynamic PivotTables and PivotCharts for interactive reporting.
- Automate repetitive tasks by recording, editing, and assigning macros, and evaluate their effectiveness in streamlining workflows.
- Integrate Excel with Word and PowerPoint by embedding and updating charts, and assess the impact of these integrations on communication and reporting.
- Construct and manage advanced data models using Power Pivot and Power Query, including importing, cleaning, and creating relationships between data sources.
- Design advanced visualizations, including forecast sheets, KPIs, and 3D Maps, to communicate insights and support decision-making.
- Apply and evaluate best practices for workbook structure, protection, version control, and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity and efficient collaboration.
