Course Description

Organizational culture plays a critical role in enabling strategy, performance, and long-term sustainability.  Examine the role of HR leaders in shaping culture and influencing organization-wide change through informed, intentional leadership practices. This course builds HR leadership capability in guiding and sustaining cultural transformation by aligning workplace culture with strategic business objectives. 

Explore how workplace data, trends, and performance insights inform cultural transformation efforts, alongside evidence-based change management models and methodologies. Learn the use of diagnostic tools to assess cultural needs and readiness for change, while integrating ethical considerations, inclusive leadership practices, and equity-focused approaches. Examine strategies that support equity-deserving groups and Indigenous relations initiatives, strengthening HR’s ability to lead inclusive, responsible, and sustainable cultural transformation.

  • Leadership and managerial roles in modeling desired culture 

  • Change management and communication strategies for cultural transformation 

  • Embedding culture into HR systems, processes, and accountability 

  • Sustaining and measuring long-term cultural transformation outcomes 

Course Details

By completion of this course, successful students will be able to: 

  • Describe the role of workplace data, trends, and performance in the process of workplace transformation.

  • Champion the role of HR leadership in establishing work culture and influencing cultural transformation.  

  • Select evidence-based change management models and methodologies that supports cultural transformation in an organization. 

  • Choose diagnostic tools and principles in assessing cultural transformation needs. 

  • Evaluate ethical considerations and inclusive leadership practices in cultural transformations. 

  • Recommend inclusive cultural transformation strategies can be implemented in support of equity-deserving groups and Indigenous relations initiatives. 

Proficiencies

This course is for human resources professionals who have experience in a generalist role and have been involved in HR functions beyond data entry—such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, or policy development.  

This is not an HR entry level course.
