In fast-scaling, multicultural business environments, departmental success is rarely accidental. This course focuses on how leaders make strategically aligned decisions that create visible, high-impact departmental wins.
Designed for leaders who want to drive consistent, high-impact results, the course examines what defines a departmental win and how leaders can generate more of them. You will explore decision-making, prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, performance metrics, and the leadership behaviours that mobilize teams toward organization-wide impact using the Win framework.
Emphasis is placed not only on achieving wins, but on positioning and communicating them to strengthen credibility and unlock future opportunities.
Course Details
Upon completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Identify the key strategic decision components that contribute to departmental success within a broader organizational context, influence departmental performance, reputation, and impact using the Win framework.
- Recognize how to position their department for impact, make strategically aligned decisions, and communicate wins in ways that resonate across the organization, reinforce credibility, and propel future opportunities.
- Define a win at work and the factors that differentiate high-impact departmental wins from routine performance outcomes.
- Examine the role of cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and communication in enabling success and the effectiveness of different enterprise strategic choices by assessing risks, trade-offs, and organizational/departmental implications.
- Design a strategic decision-making roadmap for achieving a departmental win with an associated compelling communication strategy to articulate departmental wins in a way that reinforces credibility and accelerates future opportunities.
