Course Description

Redefining ourselves in the second half of life or in life’s “third act” requires a significant shift in cultural perspective from that of decline, disease, despair and death to embracing these years and flourishing in them. We will explore conscious aging through a discussion of topics including; facing new experiences, changing identities, changes in the body, assessing relationships, unlocking creativity, recognizing happiness, spirituality and sharing wisdom.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • acknowledge the second half of life as a time of wisdom, and character development.
  • recognize which “gates” are calling us to explore our lives more deeply while accepting ourselves and our journey so far.
  • assume the responsibility of elder in our families and community by sharing the wisdom of our life experience through the wonder of storytelling.
  • create reflective experiences to enhance your inner life while defining what it means to be an elder.
