Course Description

This is the first of two courses designed to prepare you for university entrance. The course provides an introduction to the motion and energy of objects and waves. Specific units include kinematics, dynamics, circular motion, work/energy, oscillatory motion, and mechanical waves.

By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:

  • Seek and apply evidence when evaluating alternative approaches to investigation, problems and issues in physics
  • Develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to continue in the physical sciences
  • Describe and apply knowledge and skills to the following:
    • Vectors and Coordinate Systems
    • Concepts of Motion
    • Kinematics
    • Force and Motion
    • Dynamics
    • Energy and Work
