Course Description

D2L/Brightspace the University of Calgary's Learning Management System (LMS) has the tools to help you manage your courses. These include ways to communicate with students, share material with students, give assignments and gather student submissions, give assessments, like quizzes, and grade student work (sometimes automatically) and manage student grades and feedback.

The workshops in this series are designed to introduce you to these tools and provide time and space to practice, so that when you need to create your own course you are comfortable working with these tools. You will also get a chance to work through the guides for these tools, which will also help you feel more comfortable working with D2L/Brightspace in the future. Each session is interactive, and you are encouraged to come with plans for your courses so you can see the tools that fit your needs the best.

In this series, participants will have opportunities to:

  • Identify resources to learn about tools in D2L/Brightspace
  • Navigate D2L/Brightspace, find course shells and find tools within those shells
  • Demonstrate how to organize and manage content, assessment and grades in D2L/Brightspace.

Please note: Registration will close 48 hours before each workshop. Participants will receive relevant Zoom information via email at least 1 hour before the designated start time.
