This course is a non-technical, non-mathematical introduction to the biggest question of all: How did the universe come into being? Explore the history of scientific inquiry into cosmology, current models and observational evidence, and most importantly the limits of our knowledge. In this highly interactive course, students will be encouraged to read ahead and be prepared to engage in discussion and debate. The instructor will supplement reading material with classroom presentations on the latest cutting-edge research. The course will have a web component through which the students can launch their own explorations.
