Course Description

Online discussion boards are virtual conversation spaces to facilitate communication and knowledge construction (Johnson, 2007). The D2L discussion tool provides flexibility for students to contribute their thoughts at their own pace and time as well as opportunities to collaborate online. Attend this workshop to learn how to set up the discussion board in D2L.

By the end of the session, participants are expected to
  • Navigate D2L discussions with the understanding of structure, settings, and privileges that instructors and students have
  • Create forum, topic, and thread in D2L discussions
  • Utilize D2L tools to design and develop online discussions to facilitate student learning
Please Note: This workshop will be delivered online through Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to registered participants 1 to 2 hours prior to session.
