Slovenia and Croatia: Ancient Cities of Eastern Europe

From ancient Roman settlements to medieval city-states and Renaissance palaces, this is one of the world’s most culturally intriguing region. This educational travel program takes us from charming city of Ljubljana in Slovenia to some of the most beautiful locations along the Croatia’s coast — Rovinj and its archipelago, Plitvice Lakes, Rijeka, Split, Hvar and the stunning walled city of Dubrovnik. Explore these charming towns and cities, tour amazing historical and natural wonders, and stroll the museums, galleries and markets. We will enjoy local food and wine, relax on the beach, and admire the unforgettable views of the Adriatic Sea.

Accompanying Instructor

Marina Fischer, MA, studied history of art, classics and ancient history at the University of Calgary, where she works as Collection Specialist in the Nickle Galleries. Marina is a recipient of a 2018 University of Calgary Teaching Award and she shares her passion for teaching and learning through Continuing Education classes, travel courses and tours.
