In Canada, what age is considered to be an older adult or a senior citizen? What is ageism? What are the impacts of ageism on an older adult’s life? Immigrant seniors face many challenges in the areas of housing, health, finance, transportation, access to information, language and social connection. This course will help learners to understand the reality of aging and the demographics of aging population in Calgary, and other cities of Canada. Learners will acquire knowledge of various community resources for older adults and be able to link older adults to appropriate support services and assistance programs.
