I have had many exceptional professors ... Lorne Williams ... incredibly engaging and inspiring ... an equally impactful experience with Dianne Quinton and Len Huckabay in the Intentional and Purposeful Coaching seminar.
I looked up all the possible Spanish courses in Calgary and the U of C Continuing Education courses caught my attention ...after 2 years, I am nearing the completion of the Spanish certificate - and, unfortunately, running out of courses I can take, I know one thing: a certificate in French offered by the Continuing Education Department is my next goal.

At the persistence of an acquaintance at work I decided to sign up for one course ... I enjoyed the challenge ... and the interaction with the other students and instructors. Now I am considering taking more courses toward another certificate.

I decided to enter the Certificate of Human Resources Management at the University of Calgary, due to the blend of in-class and online learning. My first, and so far only, class was Learning Online (BMC 152) ... a three-week whirlwind that has prepared me for the remainder of my certificate study!
Since graduating from the U of C with a BA in psychology, I have wanted to upgrade my hands-on skills in the workplace. I began to pursue the Public Relations Management Certificate while working full-time... have taken a break this last year ...and am looking forward to starting up again in the Fall. My favourite course so far is Corporate Social Responsibility. This was a fascinating subject with an extremely knowledgeable instructor with real life experience in the field. ... I am very glad that there is Cont Ed at the U of C. I always enjoy getting the list of seminars and courses that are offered. Keep up the good work!
I became aware of the excellent program the University of Calgary had for education assistants... I was really enthusiastic at what I saw so I enrolled and I have enjoyed taking courses online. It is so convenient and has been a good fit for my busy family life and career ambitions. I think education is a valuable tool and it has afforded me the opportunity to use my talents and gifts to be in a career I love.
My husband and I decided to embark on a new journey together and spend some quality time learning American Sign Language through the U of C's ContEd program. We've both thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning this amazing language ...Tim Pearson, the instructor, is so approachable, patient, and has a wonderful way of making it all fun.
I truly enjoyed taking Writing Effectively in the fall of 2009. The instructor was excellent, and the knowledge I gained has been useful at work.
...I've now retired and I use the courses as a means of learning, and, as well, a means of recreation. I've found the courses useful and entertaining. Being of a 'not-so-tender' age I've found that information I gained has altered some of my previously held views, for example, issues dealing with the First World War and religion. ...the comments of classmates can be interesting, entertaining, and informative. I plan to continue taking courses and I appreciate the privilege of having access to the U of C campus.
As an experienced Case Manager working with clients with disabilities... I participated in the Helping Skills Course with Robert Roughley...I immediately used these skills and felt a difference in responses from clients. By refining my helping skills, I find that I am able to develop deeper relationships with clients who are feeling more supported in their interactions with me.
In 2008, I started my teaching career in Calgary... I started studying for my Teaching Second Languages (TSL) Certificate in 2009 and completed the certificate in 2010. Because I was working full time, the online courses gave me lots of flexibility... After completing my certificate, I was also given the TESL Level II certification from TESL Canada. Thank you for giving me an unforgettable experience.
